    Swinita Shah M.S. CCC-SLP

    Founder, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Educational Advocate

    Swinita is a certified speech-language pathologist and the founder of Charm City Speech. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences from Towson University and her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Baylor University.

    With experience in both clinical and school settings, Swinita is dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages in developing their communication skills. She specializes in bridging the gap between therapy, education, and advocacy, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

    Through consultative therapy, IEP advocacy, and caregiver coaching, Swinita works closely with families, educators, and professionals to foster meaningful progress and promote inclusive communication for her clients.

  • Jamie Tettey

    Jamie Tettey, M.S. , CCC-SLP

    Speech-Language Pathologist

    With over 20 years of experience, Jamie brings a wealth of expertise and a heart for communication to every session. Her journey began at her “Home by the Sea,” Hampton University, where she earned her B.S. in Communication Disorders, followed by an M.S. in Speech Pathology from Fontbonne University. Driven by a passion for specialized care, she also holds a Master’s in Teaching with a focus on Deaf Education from Washington University in St. Louis.

    Jamie’s career has spanned almost every setting — from acute rehab and home health to private practice and public schools. This diverse background makes her a versatile clinician and a trusted mentor. She has spent years supervising graduate students and Clinical Fellows, helping shape the next generation of SLPs.

    Clinical Passions Include:
    • Articulation & Phonological Disorders
    • Expressive & Receptive Language
    • Myofunctional Disorders & Fluency (Stuttering)
    • Social Communication & AAC

    Currently, Jamie serves the students of Howard County Public Schools (HCPSS) in a comprehensive elementary setting. A Howard County resident since 2018, she balances her professional life with the joyful chaos of raising her two elementary-aged children.

    When she isn’t helping kids find their voices, you can find Jamie staying active, catching up with friends, or indulging in her favorite guilty pleasure: reality TV.

    Guadalupe Lopez

    Administrative Assistant & Bilingual Liaison

    Guadalupe Lopez plays a vital role at Charm City Speech, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. As our Bilingual Liaison, he bridges communication between English- and Spanish-speaking families, ensuring every client feels heard, supported, and understood.

    With strong organizational skills and a commitment to helping others, Guadalupe manages scheduling, client communication, and administrative tasks while fostering meaningful connections within our diverse community. He is dedicated to making sure every family has access to the resources and support they need in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

    Katy Chib

    Founder & Education Consultant at Beacon Educational Solutions Partner, Charm City Speech

    We’re proud to partner with Katy Chib, founder of Beacon Educational Solutions, to support our advocacy cases at Charm City Speech. Katy brings years of experience in special education, having served as a teacher, IEP chair, and school administrator. Her work across diverse communities—from rural Michigan to Los Angeles—gives her a unique perspective on how to effectively support students with disabilities.

    With a master’s in Special Education, an Autism Authorization from UCLA, and leadership training from Johns Hopkins, Katy is deeply knowledgeable about IEP best practices and the challenges families face when navigating school systems. Together, we’re committed to helping families get the services and support their children deserve.

    Erin Hamilton

    Social Media & Community Engagement Manager

    Erin is the voice behind Charm City Speech’s social media presence, dedicated to connecting with families, educators, and professionals. With a passion for creating engaging and informative content, Erin helps share valuable resources, success stories, and updates that reflect the heart of our mission—supporting communication, education, and advocacy for individuals of all ages.

    She is committed to building a supportive online community where families can find guidance, encouragement, and the latest information about speech therapy and special education services.

  • Glenn Kasten-Sportes

    Graduate Student

    A graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology at Ithaca College in New York and a life-long Maryland resident.  She currently works as a coordinator for an early intervention program for autistic children, and prior to pursuing Speech-Language Pathology, she worked in Higher Education and corporate consulting for 10 years. She has a Master in Education (M.Ed) in Human Development from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from The Catholic University of America. Her hobbies include watching Golden Girls, reading and cooking/baking. She loves going on long walks with her spouse and three dogs, and swimming for fun in her spare time.
